2015 was a prosperous year for many companies that went public. Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) allowed several companies to join the stock market, giving them access to greater sources of financial capital. But have those IPOs been successful? Let's take a look at some of the standout IPOs from that year and their current performance.
One successful IPO from 2015 was Freedom Financial Network (FFN). The company provides consumer financial services such as debt relief, credit score management and online loans. In August 2015 it went public, raising $372 million in its IPO with revenues of $311 million. FFN has since seen tremendous growth with its stock price increasing more than 450 per cent since then. As of May 2021, FFN is trading at over $25 per share, representing a market capitalization of nearly $11 billion.
Another well-performing IPO from 2015 was Zynga Inc., the social game maker known for popular titles like FarmVille, Words With Friends and Zynga Poker. Zynga went public in December 2015 with an initial offering price of $10 per share, raising $898 million in funding with revenues totalling more than $1 billion annually. Since going public five years ago, Zynga's stock price has risen more than 170% to over $24 per share today and the company's annual revenue is now nearly twice what it was initially at an estimated $1.8 billion in 2021.
Meanwhile real estate investment trusts Invitation Homes and American Homes 4 Rent have also experienced success after their IPOs in mid-2015 with prices doubling since then due to strong demand for housing amid the Covid pandemic and historically low interest rates driving investors towards real estate investments like these two REITs. As of May 2021, American Homes 4 Rent trades are around double its IPO price of nearly six years ago while Invitation Homes is also trading slightly above double its IPO price from five years ago – both pointing towards successful outcomes from their respective IPOs back in 2015 .
